Visit Tour XSProjek from Business School – University of Sydney

XSProjek received a special visit from students of the Business School – University of Sydney, Australia. This visit was part of their educational program while in Indonesia, with a primary focus on sustainable business and social impact. The students came with Prof. Jeaney, a lecturer who is very enthusiastic about the world of social business and wanted to introduce her students to the real practices carried out by NGOs and local companies in Indonesia.

During their visit to XSProjek, students were invited to observe and learn firsthand about the upcycling production process. They saw how waste materials such as used banners, soap packaging, and fabric scraps were sorted, cleaned, and then sewn by local tailors into high-value products such as bags, pouches, and other accessories. This process demonstrates that waste is not the end of an object’s value, but can be transformed into something useful and sustainable.

The students were enthusiastic and actively asked questions throughout the tour. They also had direct discussions with the production team and gained insight into how XSProjek combines social, environmental, and economic aspects into a comprehensive business model. This activity not only provided an understanding of production, but also demonstrated the values of community empowerment that XSProjek has been implementing.

Prof. Jeaney said that one of the reasons for choosing XSProjek as a destination for the visit was because XSProjek is considered capable of providing a concrete example of an impactful and sustainable business model. She hopes that this visit will broaden the students’ horizons and inspire them in developing business ideas in the future, especially in the context of social responsibility and sustainability.

She believes that collaboration and attention from international educational institutions such as the University of Sydney will provide positive momentum for XSProjek’s future development. She also fully supports the students in compiling a report on the visit, which she hopes will serve as material for reflection and the development of a sustainable business model for XSProjek.
