Depok, Indonesia – September 18, 2025 – XSProjek partnered with PT NTT Data Indonesia in a tangible effort to protect the environment through a cleanup activity along the Ciliwung River in Depok. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preserving the river’s ecosystem while raising public awareness about the importance of responsible waste management.
The Ciliwung River, one of the main rivers in the Greater Jakarta area, faces serious challenges from pollution. Plastic waste, disposable packaging, and other debris continue to damage the aquatic ecosystem and threaten public health. Through this program, XSProjek and NTT Data demonstrate that change can begin with simple yet consistent actions.
Involving NTT Data employees, the XSProjek team, and local volunteers, the activity focused on collecting plastic and inorganic waste polluting the riverbanks. Participants also engaged in discussions about the challenges of waste management in densely populated areas and the importance of shifting daily consumption patterns.
This action not only had a direct impact on the environment but also served as a moment of cross-sector collaboration uniting the corporate world, social foundations, and communities in the spirit of sustainable change.
One of XSProjek’s main focuses is managing plastic waste and transforming it into useful products through an upcycling approach. This activity formed part of a broader chain of awareness: identifying the source of waste, cleaning it up, and processing it into something valuable. From rivers to creative hands, trash can become a solution.
“The NTT Data CSR program, in collaboration with World Cleanup Day, XSProjek, and the Ciliwung Depok community, is bringing this initiative to life. Together, we are taking action to care for the waste in our environment,” said Ramli, Manager of XSProjek.
He added, “This program is a new initiative from XSProjek, where we offer waste cleanup programs for companies, communities, universities, and groups who want to take part in creating cleaner surroundings.”
“This year’s program theme is World Cleanup Day, and we are collaborating with XSProjek to clean up the Ciliwung River in Depok. Today’s activity is part of our annual CSR program, which aims to encourage all NTT Data employees to engage in initiatives that contribute to the environment. This event also gave us valuable insights into how to sort waste properly, starting with ourselves and our surroundings. Hopefully, in the future, we can also make greater contributions to the community,” said Dini, Head of HR at NTT Data.
Beyond cleaning the river, the activity fostered stronger bonds among participants. A spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and care grew throughout the day. Cleaning the river became not just a physical effort, but also a symbol of shared hope for a healthier environment and a better future.
